 Il problema più grande per le nostre ricerche in Polinesia Francese è stato quello del trasporto delle attrezzature dall'Italia via aereo. Peso trasportabile limitato e notevole ingombro dei colli. Se la temperatura media di quelle isole, 28-30 °C, ha molto semplificato l'abbigliamento sia in quantità che peso, è pur vero che abbiamo dovuto impegnarci a lungo per decidere, dopo molte eliminazioni, quali attrezzature portare. Muta leggera, maschera, boccaglio e pinne? Si! Bombole e attrezzatre per immersione? No! E così via centellinando pesi e spazi per rientrare nei limiti concessi. E per fotografare molluschi vivi? Fotocamera subacquea compatta non scafandrata: solo fino a -10 m. Pazienza, va bene così, in acqua funziona anche la posizione macro.
 Poi Libero ricorda un vecchio articolo di tanti anni prima che descriveva la costruzione di un acquario portatile: peso e spazio dei materiali ottimali per il trasporto!

I Materiali

2 lastre di plexiglass o vetro, 4 morsetti fermapezzi, un tubo di gomma. Tutto qui? Trovano benissimo posto tra le magliette e la biancheria! E il costo? Meno di 20 euro!
