Dove raccogliere
Il mare spinge continuamente materiali vari verso la spiaggia. Se la costa è rettilinea e la spiaggia lunga, magari anche chilometri, la cosa indica che ci sono correnti ben distribuite che spingono allo stesso modo un poco ovunque. Ma qualunque variazione del fondo, piccole colline, fosse, canaloni, rocce, provoca una variazione delle correnti che, spingendo sulla riva in maniera diversa, provocano nei millenni golfi, cale, calette, insenature. E' proprio in queste zone che si creano notevoli accumuli di "detrito". Il detrito contiene, oltre a sassi, alghe, animali marini morti, rifiuti umani e altro ancora, una grande quantità di conchiglie. Nella foto in alto si vede del detrito in una caletta che, a causa delle barriere costruite dall'uomo, raccoglie grandi quantità di conchiglie.
Occorre ricordare che il mare è in continuo e diverso movimento: oggi è calmo ma domani potrebbe essere molto mosso. Ieri ho visto un gran cumulo di detrito ma oggi ci sono ritornato e ho trovato solo sabbia.
In altre parole: occorre cogliere il momento se non si vuole perdere una buona occasione.
