Il Genus Tyrrheniberus  Tyrrheniberus è considerato Genere a se stante rispetto a Marmorana, per diversità anatomiche e genetiche.  Questo Genere è rappresentato da specie esclusive dell’Isola di Sardegna che, secondo gli ultimi studi di Fiorentino, V., Salomone, N., Manganelli, G. & Giusti, F. (2010) sembrano essere solo due anziché i classici tre in quanto Tyrrheniberus sardonius (Martens, 1884) e Tyrrheniberus villicus (Paulucci, 1882) sembrerebbero appartenere ad una unica entità.  Non possiamo ignorare lavori frutto di avanzati studi molecolari ma è difficile da accettare questa conclusione che dal punto di vista della morfologia appare francamente incredibile.  Personalmente, analogamente a quanto fatto per le specie siciliane, mantengo distinte le tre classiche entità sarde in attesa che la sistematica venga aggiornata.  Le specie Sarde appartenenti a Tyrrheniberus sono localizzate all’area centro orientale dell’isola con una diffusione molto limitata.

The Genus Tyrrheniberus  Tyrrheniberus is considered as a Genus in its own right than Marmorana, for anatomical and genetic diversity.  This Genus is represented by exclusive species of the Island of Sardinia, according to the latest studies Fiorentino, V., Solomone, N., Manganelli, G. & Giusti, F. (2010) seem to be only two instead of three classics as Tyrrheniberus sardonius (Martens, 1884) and Tyrrheniberus villicus (Paulucci, 1882) seem to belong to a single entity.  We can not ignore the work product of advanced molecular studies but is difficult to accept this conclusion that from the point of view of morphology is frankly incredible.  Personally, similar to what was done for the species in Sicily, I keep distinct the three classic sardinian entity waiting for the systematic refreshes.  The Sardinian species belonging to Tyrrheniberus are localized to the center of the island with a very limited distribution.
