Piazza Barberini
Inizialmente chiamata piazza "Grimana" e successivamente "degli Sforza", piazza Barberini prese il suo attuale nome nel 1640. La famiglia Barberini aveva acquistato una grande villa con un enorme giardino esteso fino all'attuale via XX settembre. Papa Urbano VIII, Maffeo Barberini (1568-1644), sviluppò molto questa parte della citta facendo costruire grandi opere e, a queste, prese parte con autorevolezza Gian Lorenzo
Bernini. Situata in una vasta campagna, la zona si riempì di ville nobiliari fin dal 1500 e assunse un aspetto decisamente urbano ad opera di papa Sisto V che vi fece aprire la via Felice.
Al centro della piazza la stupenda "Fontana del Tritone" mentre all'inizio della famosissima Via Veneto è situata la "Fontana delle Api", entrambe opera del Bernini che, con queste due fontane, inizia a traferire i temi della natura, fino a quel momento appannaggio esclusivo delle ville e dei giardini, nello spazio urbano.
