Con questo numero si conclude la trattazione del Genere Lambis iniziata nell'anno 2006. In questi ultimi anni la tassonomia della Famiglia STROMBIDAE ha subito sconvolgimenti radicali, trasferimento di specie in nuove famiglie, nonché l'istituzione di nuovi generi hanno aperto diversi scenari di conoscenza ed una profonda revisione di quanto fino ad oggi conosciuto. Pur prendendo atto dei nuovi contributi, molte delle rettifiche tassonomiche rimangono nel campo delle opinioni e delle personali convinzioni, dove spesso, la consapevole premessa di insufficienza di materiale, mancato esame delle parti molli ed ipotesi che necessitano di adeguate conferme, ci inducono alle giuste verifiche con quanto sino ad oggi a noi conosciuto. Con la stessa cautela ho voluto trattare l'argomento comparando "il vecchio" ed "il nuovo" soffermandomi maggiormente sulla variabilità delle singole specie laddove, spesso, l'esame delle forme e di particolari esemplari fanno fortemente dubitare di ogni nostra fondata certezza.

With this issue we conclude the treatment of the Genus Lambis initiated in the 2006 year. In these last years the taxonomy of the Family STROMBIDAE has suffered radical upsets, such as transfer of species to new families, as well as the establishment of new types that have opened different scenarios of knowledge and a profound revision of what was known until today. Even taking into consideration the new contributions, many of the taxonomical rectifications remain in the field of opinions and personal convictions, where awareness of insufficient material, lack of examination of the soft parts, and hypotheses that need suitable confirmations often induce us to make the proper verifications using the methods known to us until now. With the same caution I wanted to treat the subject comparing "the old" and "the new", focusing mostly on the variability of the single species, especially where the examination of forms and of particular samples often place strongly in doubt each of our established certainties.
